How to play Dirtbound
Open the official game site, pick Solo, then Stage, and run 1 km before you chase a time.
Five steps for a first stage
- Open dirtbound.fr.
- Choose Solo, then Stage, and start with 1 km.
- Pick Varied landscape and a summer theme while you learn the corners.
- Accelerate with W or Up. Lift before a bend. Tap Space for a hairpin instead of holding it.
- If you drop off the road, press R. The public build adds 5 seconds. Finish the stage before you hunt a time.

Lowlands stay under 90 metres in the public terrain file. The maximum slope used while generating a stage is 18 percent. I am not filling in grip numbers, because the public files do not publish them. “Brake early” and “tap the handbrake” come from written guides, not from a physics sheet, so I keep them as driving advice.

Stage and circuit
A stage is point to point. R puts you back on the road and adds 5 seconds. A circuit is timed laps. There, R sets up a fresh flying start from five seconds before the finish line at the previous lap’s speed; before a recorded lap, it uses a standing run-up. Leaving the road is judged when you are more than 2.5 metres below the nearby surface, or more than 30 metres off it. That distance rule is one public-file reading.
You do not need an account for a solo run. Leaderboards ask for a Google sign-in and a username. The next pages cover Dirtbound controls, multiplayer, the track editor, the daily challenge, and loading problems.
Questions
What stage lengths exist?
The current public menu lists 1 km, 2 km, 5 km, 10 km, and Endless. HeapPlay’s 17 Oct 2026 note listed 2, 5, 10, and Endless, so I keep 1 km as part of the build I read on 3 Nov 2026.
Does winter make the road slower?
The public season note says the road and the times stay the same. Only the look changes.

Last checked 2026-11-03. I compared the public materials linked below. Official pages, source files, screenshots and the developer’s itch.io listing count as one publisher; a second independent publisher is named separately where available.
